Matt Clark

Non-Executive Board Director

Matt Clark has over 20 years of experience working on the operational side of the advertising industry.

After completing his accountancy training at Blakemores, a firm specialising in Media and Arts where he audited several advertising agencies, Matt soon realised that this was where he wanted to be. He joined Barker Nicholson Lewin as Finance Director in 1988, and moved to Reay Keating Hamer in 1990 (which later became Mellor Reay and Partners in 1995).

Matt was a major behind-the-scenes player in the merger of Mellor Reay and Partners with Grey. Following a period of working as Grey's Commercial Director, he moved to Mother in 1999 to become Finance Director and Partner.

Since joining Mother, Matt has played an instrumental part in building the foundations for the company to pursue its ambitions and expand its family. Mother has received many accolades for its creative work, most notably being voted the UK's "Agency of the Year" by 'Campaign' magazine for two years running. Its consistent new-business performance has lead to an enviable international client list that includes: Coca-Cola, Diageo, Unilever, Orange, Boots and Yell.

Matt's entrepreneurial skills and business savvy have contributed to Mother’s successful diversification into media, digital, TV and design as well as its expansion into the US and South America.

He is the only Finance Director to have won a One Show Gold Pencil in 2003 for Britart's 'Very Public Art Gallery'.
